Asset Upgrading, Maintenance and Replacement Works at Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant Has Commenced

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform that the asset upgrading, maintenance and replacement works at Sg Langat Water Treatment Plan (Sg Langat WTP) have commenced at 9:00 am today (Tuesday) according to schedule as announced on 26 September 2023.

The asset upgrading, maintenance and replacement works are expected to be completed at 7:00 pm, 10 October 2023 (Tuesday). Water supply will be distributed in stages to consumers once the water supply distribution system has been stabilised. The water supply in all affected areas of Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Langat region is expected to fully recover by 12:00 pm, 12 October 2023 (Thursday).

The duration of the water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises. The list of areas affected by the scheduled water supply disruption is listed in Appendix A.

Air Selangor has mobilised water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics and dialysis centres and funerals. Alternative water supply assistance will be provided at seven local service centres listed in Appendix B.

For commercial customers, the purchase of water supply can be made at any of Air Selangor’s customer service counters across all regions. Commercial customers can use their respective water tankers at two local water filling stations that will be opened in Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara.

Air Selangor had conducted a briefing session with elected representatives for the affected areas on 9 October 2023, led by YB Izham Hashim, Selangor State Infrastructure and Agriculture EXCO. The briefing session aims to ensure a smooth process in providing water supply for consumers.
