Status of Water Supply Recovery Following Asset Maintenance and Replacement Works at Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP)

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform on the latest update of recovery status in all areas of Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor region affected by the asset maintenance and replacement works in Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP).

 

As of 12:00 pm, the percentage of water supply recovery for the entire affected areas had reached 27.1%. The table of the breakdown of the expected time and percentage of water supply recovery by group is as follows:

The list of areas that have not recovered is as listed in Appendix A.

 

For Group 1, the water supply for affected areas has fully recovered at 12:00 pm, 6 June 2024 (Thursday). For Group 2, the water supply full recovery time is expected to be at 3:00 am, 7 June 2024 (Friday) while for Group 3, and the full recovery time is expected to be at 12:00 pm, 7 June 2024 (Friday).

 

The duration of this water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

 

Air Selangor has mobilised water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral service centres. Alternative water supply assistance will be provided at 13 local service centres listed in Appendix B.

 

Air Selangor would like to advise consumers who have and will receive their water supply to let the tap flow until it is clear before using. Air Selangor hopes that consumers who have received water supply will use water prudently to ensure that the recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly.
