Rainwater Harvesting System @ Air Selangor

At Air Selangor, the Rainwater Harvesting System is using Rainwater Collection Tanks which are located at selected Air Selangor regional offices.

These tanks are located outside of the main door of the regional offices with the aim of fostering awareness of water conservation and at the same time used for daily domestic cleaning and landscape use at this location.

  • The rainwater harvesting system will be able to provide a backup water supply if there is a water supply disruption.
  • A study by the National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) also found that rainwater harvesting systems can reduce the use of treated water supply by up to 40% in the long term.
  • Installation of rainwater harvesting system can reduce the risk of flash floods.
  • Rainwater harvesting system can reduce carbon footprint as compared to treated water sources.
  • Rainwater harvesting system contributes towards the ‘Go-Green’ initiative by saving water.
