Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to update on the unscheduled water supply disruption due to the temporary shutdown at Sungai Bernam Water Treatment Plant (Sungai Bernam WTP) following the high turbidity of raw water caused by water surge at Sungai Bernam.
As of 12:00 pm today, Sungai Bernam WTP has commenced operations and clean and safe treated water supply has been distributed in stages to consumers.
The water supply recovery in the affected areas has reached 6.3%. The full recovery time is expected to be at 12:00 am, 26 August 2024 (Monday). Please refer to Appendix A for the remaining affected areas that have not yet recovered.
For your information, the duration of this water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.
Alternative assistance through water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas by giving priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral service centres.
