Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to update on the unscheduled water supply disruption due to the temporary shutdown at Sungai Bernam Water Treatment Plant (WTP Sungai Bernam) following the high turbidity of raw water caused by water surge at Sungai Bernam.
As of 6:00 am, gradual restoration of Sungai Bernam WTP was still ongoing while regular water quality monitoring being conducted to measure the turbidity level of raw water due to the heavy rain which caused water surge at Sungai Bernam. Currently, the treated water balancing reservoir is being filled up and the water supply will be distributed once it reaches the required level as well as complies with the treated water quality standards.
Alternative assistance through water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas by giving priority to critical premises. Air Selangor is making every effort to minimise the impact of disruption on affected consumers.
