Status of Water Supply Recovery Following the Implementation of Emergency Repair Works due to Pipe Burst at Jalan Bukit Cerakah, Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor

7:30 pm

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform on the latest update of water supply recovery following the emergency repair works due to a pipe burst incident at Jalan Bukit Cerakah, Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor.

As of 6:00 pm, the percentage of water supply recovery for Group 2 is 54%. We would like to inform that a total of eight areas in Group 2 will experience a delay in full recovery. These areas are Armada Putera, Kampung Pulau Indah, Taman Samudera, Kampung Teluk Gong, Laguna Park, Perindustrian Pulau Indah Fasa 2, Perindustrian Pulau Indah Fasa 3 and Pulau Ketam.

This delay is caused by the treated water turbidity parameters which were higher than the normal level. Therefore, flushing activities need to be carried out to allow the water quality to recover according to the national standards that have been set by the Ministry of Health. The new recovery time for these eight areas is at 9:00 am, 25 May 2023 (Thursday).

For the remaining areas that have not yet recovered, the full recovery time is expected to be at 9:00 pm, 24 May 2023 (Wednesday). Please refer to Appendix A for the list of areas in Group 2 that have not yet recovered.

The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location and distance of consumers’ premises. Consumers can also view the list of affected areas via https://hentitugas.airselangor.com/ and the Air Selangor application.

Air Selangor would like to advise consumers who have and will receive water supply to let the tap runs until the water is clear before using it for daily consumption.

Air Selangor will continue to mobilise water tankers to the affected areas, with focus given to the eight areas that are experiencing a delay in full recovery. Priority is also given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals during the unscheduled water supply disruption.

Consumers can also obtain information on this unscheduled water supply disruption from time to time through our official communication channels such as the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or call Air Selangor’s Call Centre at 15300.
