Air Selangor Launches Coffee Table Book as a Guide for the Water Services Industry

Kuala Lumpur – In conjunction with its third anniversary in September 2019, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) today launched its inaugural coffee table book, a publication that details snippets and historical milestones of Air Selangor’s journey in the water services industry.

Titled “Air Selangor Journey – Our Story”, the book traces back the starting point of the restructuring of the national water services industry and highlights significant events that have led to the establishment of Air Selangor. The coffee table book also provides an overview of Air Selangor’s role, achievements and future plans in shaping the national water services industry.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor Menteri Besar, who was present to officiate the launch of the coffee table book, said the book highlights Air Selangor’s achievements in becoming the sole licensee to treat and distribute water to consumers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya after the successful restructuring of the water services industry.

He added that “The publication of this coffee table book represents a performance report in capturing Air Selangor’s progress that clearly portrays the company’s strategies for its business and operational plans as well as the implementation of various initiatives towards a sustainable water supply ecosystem in Selangor. The Selangor state government is confident that this continuous effort will place Air Selangor on par with other water operators in developed countries.”

The Minister of Environment and Water, YB Dato’ Sri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man also commended the publication of the coffee table book, which serves as a reminder for all relevant stakeholders of the mandate and trust that needs to be upheld in the water management and distribution ecosystem, both at the state and national level. He is also confident that consumers will remain Air Selangor’s key focus in all its operations.

Air Selangor’s Chief Executive Officer, Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said that the publication of the coffee table book provides sentimental memories of Air Selangor’s history in overcoming various challenges to become the country’s largest water services provider with a total of 8.4 million consumers.

To date, Air Selangor has continuously improved the quality of its services and and drives the country’s water services industry as it looks to achieve its vision to become the leading water services provider in Asia by 2030.
