Air Selangor Amplifies its Box of Hope Initiative to Channel Donations via Digital Platform

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) is amplifying its Box of Hope initiative under its Sesama Mara Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to now enable the public to channel donations digitally via its website.

Since its launch in June 2020, the Box of Hope initiative is Air Selangor’s effort in giving back to the community, particularly in helping the B40 community via the provisions of essential food items. The Box of Hope initiative was launched to help the B40 communities who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in facing the rising cost of living. Additionally, Air Selangor with the support of the local community also aims to provide them with the support and encouragement in living their everyday lives as we continue to care for their wellbeing.

In line with the digital transformation era, the Box of Hope initiative is now amplified with the launch of a digital platform to encourage and enable the public to donate via online transactions without having to visit the Box of Hope distribution centres located at selected Village Grocer outlets. The public who wishes to donate through the Box of Hope initiative in the form of essential food items packages such as flour, rice, canned food, powdered milk, and oil can channel their donations via www.airselangor.com/boxofhope.

As of June 2022, over 2,000 Box of Hope boxes worth over RM175,000 have been distributed to selected B40 communities and welfare homes around Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. The Box of Hope distribution is also a collaboration with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM), focusing specifically on the B40 communities in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.

The existing Box of Hope donation method in the form of physical purchase of essential items can still be done at five (5) Box of Hope Village Grocer locations, namely Tamarind Square Cyberjaya, MyTown Cheras, 1 Mont Kiara, I-City Mall Shah Alam, and Melawati Mall Ampang. Air Selangor also plans to increase the number of Box of Hope distribution centres at Village Grocer outlets for the convenience of the public to donate.
